To setup your Fedora Talk VoIP information in the Fedora Accounts System, follow the steps here: http://talk.fedoraproject.org/access

Remember to use a password that is at least six characters in length, and ensure it is different from your regular FAS password.

== Sound Preferences ==
Prior to setting up a VoIP client program, configure your sound input and output. To do that, right-click on the sound volume, and choose  Sound Preferences.  In the resulting dialog select the Input and Output tabs, unmute the device in each, and ensure that the input device is registering sound from your voice.

These instructions were created using twinkle-1.4.2-2.fc11.

1) Run the following command:  su -c 'yum install twinkle'

What about an alternate path for installing using the GUI (PackageKit)
  a. System/Administration/Add/Remove Software
  b. type "twinkle" into the "find" box and click find
  c. check the box for the "twinkle" package

2) Run the twinkle application in one of the following ways:
   a. Select Applications > Internet > Twinkle from the main menu
   b. In a terminal, run 'twinkle'

3) Select "Ok" to create a profile.

4) Select "Wizard" [[wizard-option.png]]
4a) Select "Profile Editor" [[twinkle-profile-option.png]]

5) Give the profile a name, such as "FedoraTalk". (spaces are not allowed) [[twinkle-profile-name.png]]

  --SIP service provider: Other  
  --Your Name (optional): <Firstname Lastname>
  --User Name: <FAS Account name>
  --Domain: talk.fedoraproject.org
  --Authentication Name: <FAS Account name> (If you want password saved locally)
  --Password: <VOIP Password> (this can be found in your fas account and is NOT your FAS account password)
Choose OK

7) A warning will appear indicating that system settings can be adjusted. Choose OK [[twinkle-settings-alert.png]]

8) Select the "SIP Server" icon in left column and fill in the following information:
  --Registrar: talk.fedoraproject.org (This defaults from the domain so doesn't need to be entered)

Choose OK

8) To receive a call you must be registered, this should happen automatically if the above settings are correct.
  --To verify your registration click on "Registration/Show Registrations" [[twinkle-main-show-registrations.png]]
  --(your firewall should allow inbound connections on port 5060)

9) Verify that your audio setup is working by calling the Echo Test line on the Fedora Talk system.
